Why should I use your 5click hosting?

My 5click deployment tool works for "Rails" and "React on Rails" projects. I hope to add "React Native" in the Spring of 2020. My deployment tool will automatically pull your code from a git repo and launch it on the internet with 5 clicks of your mouse. You will get your own instance of redis and sidekiq automatically. Also included is a free SSL certificate. You can use your own domain or I will set you up as a subdomain of 5click.co.

Why would anybody use your hosting services instead of AWS or Heroku?

AWS and Heroku are focused on very large businesses that want to hire large dev op teams and spend alot of money on "serverless" computing because it sounds really cool. When you talk about elastic beanstalks, lamdas and EC2 containers you sound really, really smart.

For the rest of the us, who just want to launch their project quickly and easily there is 5 click hosting!! You don't need to hire consultants, dev op guys or system administrators. You can now develop and deploy your own project. Even the most junior dev. Image the freedom this brings to medium, small and start-up sized companies.

What about kubernetes?

Kubernetes is awesome!

...If you have a full time dedicated dev op team focusing on it. For the rest of us... just use 5 click!

Tell me about the VMs?

We have a selection of VM's with ubuntu 16.04 already loaded. SSH and the ufw firewall have been installed and started. The ip address has been configured and started. Other than that, it's a stock install of ubuntu. When you purchase the subscription, you will be given the root password and you can login immediately.

I will be happy to load any other OS you want or customize the hardware to your specifications. Usually I can do this the same day. I will provide you with one free snapshot of your virtual machine and store it for you. I will be happy to sell you additional snapshots. All you pay for is the storage.

Please note, I currently don't have the vmware console available thru the website. I am hoping to get this functionality as soon as possible. This means that if you halt your vm or stop the sshd daemon, you will need me to restart it. Please open a support ticket and I will recieve a text, I am normally able to respond very quickly to these requests.

VMware only allows you to divide the cpu into an abstract concept of a "vcpu". If you don't know what the underlying hardware is, this is a meaningless and arbitrary piece of information. I tell you exactly what the hardware is so that you can make planning and capacity decisions properly. My VM box is currently a Dell r620 with 2 x 2670v2 CPUs. There is a total of 20 cores. All my disk are RAID1 SAS SSD. Yes, all my VM disk are mirrored for your computing success. This is included free! All other competitors will give you a single RAID0 slug of SATA SSD or HDD disk. That is why they offer so much disk inexpensively. SAS SSD is optimized for high tranaction applications, and provides better performance.

Tell me about your Data Center?

My data center is located in Atlanta, GA. It has UPS and generator power and multi vendor network feeds. This is a secure facility meeting best practice data center standards. If you wish to rent rackspace from me you can ship your server to me in Atlanta or I will be happy to purchase a server on your behalf and install it. I do not charge anything for racking it. I will charge you to ship your server back and I will charge you for any configuration of hardware, software or OS that you want. I can handle any task you have at a great price, just give me a call.

Do you offer 24/7 support?

No, I am too small to offer 24/7 support but you will find this small inconvience is worth it. Please keep in mind that most places that offer 24/7 support, mislead you. They have an answering service, or someone in the Phillipines takes your call. A technician isn't actually available. I expect I can address most issues in 8 hours. And most much faster.
